Daken and Laura

Finally got the time to make a quick sketch. Here’s Daken and Laura. Quickly done in SAI and Photoshop for filter effects.

The White Queen

Nothing much to say about this piece.   Oh yeah… Boobs.

Beast

Finally have time for one sketch. Mojo was not right for something with a nice rack and a pretty face today so I went with Hank McCoy. Just wanted to do something rough, messy and raw. Nice end to a fairly rough day of chores and art-blocks.

Psylocke

We at Pencilflex do apologize for the lack of TnA lately. So here’s my humble contribution, my all time favorite, pants-tightening X-Men, Psylocke. A quick sketch done in SAI

Nightcrawler

Howdy,  Miko here. And this is my submission to end the week, but don’t worry we still have a week to go for the X-Men theme. I know we haven’t been posting as much as we used/want to, but some of us have been preoccupied lately. I did a sketch this morning of something completely unrelated to X-Men as a template on how I’d want to go with today’s sketch. The exercise went well and quick, this however took longer than I’d hope heheh. Sometimes I just can’t help myself. Anyways, here’s Nightcrawler, all done in Paint Tool SAI. And I’m off to dreamland.

Showdown

Hallo! Its me again and here’s my submission for today! Basically, I had the whole afternoon to do this, and since I was feeling the juices today, why not go all out? Right? Well, kind of all out. I read the first volume of  The Ultimates earlier and was so pumped by the artwork. It was so awesome that I just had to try out comic style pencils. And here’s what I came up with. I’ve always preferred Logan’s brown and tan costume than the classic yellow and blue, so I chose it for this piece. All done in Paint Tool SAI. CHEERS!

Kitty Pryde

I think we all fell in love with Kitty in Whedon’s Astonishing run, what with her being an adorable but heroic goofball.  Here’s a sketch I had a lot of fun with.

Deadpool

I gotta be honest.  I’m not the biggest Deadpool fan.  But the way Rick Remender writes him on Uncanny X-Force is just brilliant.  He’s literally like an altruistic Joker… with swords.

I was figuring out ways to display the character’s stealthiness without having to spend too much time on the backgrounds (it is a sketch exercise after all), so I figured I’d use his costume’s dominant color as the same spot color on the wall behind him.  Using the blood splatters as a rudimentary means to outline him was an afterthought.  I’m pretty happy with how this turned out.  I’ll revisit this trick someday.

Gambit

Hallo. This is just a quick sketch of Gambit. Mostly just did some brush strokes in SAI and then added textures and filters in PS. I wanted to try a Yoji Shinkawa(Metal Gear) style, look for this piece.

Laura

Kat here. I went with Laura Kinney/X-23 for today since this was a composition I’ve kind of always wanted to do but never got around to using it. I think it works well with her. Went with simple doodly lines and the marker tool in Sai Paint Tool… not a lot of time this month to spend on sketches.
